The council was established in January 2020, with the aim of contributing to the improvement of welfare in Sapporo and developing an abundant region in which it is comfortable to live. In order to do this, discussions are held on the measures necessary to ensure the smooth occupancy of rented housing with regard to those in need of consideration when attempting to secure such housing, especially the elderly and those with disabilities, based on the “Act on Promotion of Offering of Rental Housing to Persons Requiring Special Assistance in Securing Housing”.
