The West Alabama Food Bank (WAFB) was incorporated in 1987 as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization whose mission is to help alleviate hunger and food insecurity in nine West Alabama counties including Bibb, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Marion, Pickens, Sumter and Tuscaloosa.
WAFB operates a 10,000 square-foot warehouse with on-site cold storage. WAFB member nonprofit agencies pick up and distribute food to the hungry in their respective communities. Through these agencies, WAFB has distributed more than SEVENTEEN MILLION pounds of food.
