Food Bank Kyoto delivers donated food to those in need with the cooperation of welfare facilities and organizations. Operated entirely by volunteers, it collects donated food and delivers it mainly within Kyoto City, but also to neighboring cities and towns.
Currently, we receive food donations from companies, farmers, and individuals, which our staff sorts and regularly delivers to facilities, organizations, children’s cafeterias, etc. We also provide emergency support through.
Food Bank Kyoto not only receives donated food, but also grows fresh seasonal vegetables on farmland rented to us free of charge, known as the Food Bank Kyoto Farm. Under the guidance of experts, the farm employs natural farming methods that do not use chemical fertilizers or pesticides. Harvested vegetables are delivered on a regular basis, on special deliveries, and in emergency situations.
