JOIN, a project commissioned by Sapporo City, operates through the Sapporo City Homeless Consultation and Support Center, which acts as a comprehensive consultation desk for homeless consultation and support, and four organizations that operate shelters. JOIN provides food, clothing, and shelter for a certain period of time to those who have lost their home or are at risk of losing it, and supports them toward independence.
By collaborating with multiple organizations, JOIN has become able to provide a larger pool of support and respond appropriately to the needs of those in need, depending on their circumstances. JOIN also holds regular meetings between Sapporo City and the organizations, allowing them to create individual self-reliance support plans and work together to resolve various issues.
