It has jurisdiction over part of Aoba Ward, the center of Sendai City, and with an area of approximately 11 square kilometers, it is the smallest of the prefecture’s 25 police stations.
The area is crowded with high-rise buildings and is home to administrative and judicial institutions such as the prefectural office, city hall, prosecutor’s office, and courts, as well as JR Sendai Station.
Meanwhile, it is home to the entertainment district of Kokubuncho, home to the largest shopping street in the Tohoku region, Ichibancho, Chuo-dori, and many restaurants, and is a 24-hour city with a constant flow of people.
