The Tokyo Job Center is a one-stop job-related service center established by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to support employment and job hunting for Tokyo residents. It offers comprehensive employment-related services, from detailed career counseling tailored to each individual’s aptitude and situation, to various seminars and skills development programs to help people acquire knowledge and skills useful during and after their job search, as well as job information and job placement services. Non-Tokyo residents are also welcome to use the center if they are looking for work in Tokyo.
In addition to three age-specific sections – the Young Corner (under 29 years old), the Middle Corner (30 to 54 years old*), and the Senior Corner (55 years old and over) – there is also a Women’s Job Support Terrace for those who want to balance work and family life, and a Specialized Support Corner for those who are finding it difficult to work for various reasons, and the Tokyo Job Foundation, private employment support companies, and Hello Work come together to provide unique services that meet the needs of job seekers. Furthermore, the general consultation desk also offers “specialized consultation” on various working styles such as starting a business, NPOs, self-employed teleworking, as well as occupational aptitude, social insurance and pensions, and employment independence support.
