The Domestic Violence Intervention Center (DVIC), formerly East Alabama Taskforce for Battered Women’s, was incorporated as a 501 (3)c non-profit agency in 1980 with its shelter accepting its first client in 1981. Serving five counties (Chambers, Lee, Macon, Randolph and Tallapoosa Counties). DVIC provides a 24-hour crisis line, a confidential emergency shelter, case management, legal advocacy, child advocacy, counseling, referrals to community agencies, support groups, and transportation.
