The capacity is 81 people. The period of stay is 6 months in principle. When moving in, residents will use welfare assistance and other assistance, and after moving in, we will provide employment support, aiming for economic independence. In addition, elderly people who cannot work will use welfare assistance and pensions to transition to a stable community life.
In addition to escaping from “houselessness (physical poverty)” by securing a safe place to live, maintaining health, various support for employment, and continuing support after transitioning to community life, Hobokukan also works to solve another problem faced by people in poverty, namely “relational poverty.” People do not fall into a desperate poverty situation only by losing their home or job. The root cause of this is the loss of relationships between people, that is, the loss of relationships and bonds. We have called this “homelessness (relational poverty).” Hobokukan wants to be a place where people can reconnect with each other.
