On April 1, 1966, the Sendai Kita Police Station was separated from the then Sendai Central Police Station (now Sendai Kita Police Station) and established at its current location.
On September 20, 1989, a new office building was constructed due to the expansion of the major prefectural road between Sendai and Izumi, based on city planning. On November 1, 1990, with the transition to a designated city and in response to the significant increase in population, the Izumi Police Station was newly established, and the entire Izumi Ward came under the jurisdiction of Izumi Police Station, and most of Aoba Ward came under the jurisdiction of this station.
